Hiroshi (ひろし?) is a third year student at Nekketsu High School that was first featured in Nekketsu Renegade Kunio-kun. He is an honor student who is often made into a target due to him being best friends with Kunio. Though he lacks the ability to fend for himself, he admires Kunio's strength and yearns to be a tough and righteous delinquent like him as he's always there to rescue him. Hiroshi has also participated in various sports alongside Kunio.

After defeating Sabu at the end of the game, Kunio comes out of the building only to see Hiroshi and the other students of Nekketsu High School cheering for him on his victory. Kunio and Hiroshi then shake hands. In the Famicom version, he is kidnapped by Sabu, and Kunio must rescue him.

Mihoko gets away, but Yūji's cronies eventually catch up to Hiroshi and proceed to physically assault him. He is hospitalized from the beating and his recovery will take three months. Shodai Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun[]

Prior to the events of the story, Hiroshi would begin writing letters to Miho Yanagisawa and would learn of her situation in Osaka. In one letter, he'd mention Kunio as someone who has never lost a fight, which would later lead her to recruit him into the Osaka Alliance.

Sometime after the Nekketsu High School students arrive in Osaka for a class trip, Hiroshi is attacked in their hotel's parking garage by a group of thugs and is rescued by Kunio. The group then all heads over to Kunio's hotel room where Hiroshi asks him if he'd like to hangout on the following day, to which Kunio accepts his offer. The other students in the room then begin to question why Hiroshi would bring Kunio along to his date until Kunio wakes back up and angrily stops them from speaking any further. Later in the morning, Hiroshi wakes up Kunio and mentions how he's been writing letters to a girl and that he promised he'd meet her at the Umeda Station. At the station, Hiroshi briefly leaves to go to the bathroom and later returns with Kunio and Miho waiting for him. Hiroshi asks how she knows Kunio, to which Miho realizes it was the Kunio he once mentioned and states that he just rescued her from members of the Osaka Union. Hiroshi then introduces Kunio to Miho as the girl he was writing to with the two then explaining to him about the current situation in Osaka.

Later outside of the hotel, Kunio and Hiroshi are ambushed by Hokuto and her lackeys. Nakazaki grabs Kunio from behind to prevent him from fighting back as Hiroshi attempts to take on the group but is greatly injured in the process. Hiroshi is admitted to the hospital afterwards with Kunio then deciding to get involved in the Alliance and Union conflict in order to get revenge for Hiroshi. During the ending of the game, Hiroshi is seen alongside the other Nekketsu High School students at the Osaka Port waiting for Kunio after hearing the news from Masaki Yanagisawa. When asked by Kunio if he's doing okay, Hiroshi states that his body still hurts but that he'll be fine. When the group all reflect on Yoshihiro, Hiroshi mentions that he feels bad for him and the way he turned out. Hiroshi then leaves with the other students after hearing police sirens.

Shin Nekketsu Kōha: Kunio-tachi no Banka[]

In the beginning of the game, Hiroshi arrives to the prison Kunio and Riki are being held at to visit them. During the visit, he begs Kunio to break out of prison and return to Nekketsu High School as he reveals that things have changed in his absence. He reveals that Daiki has taken control of the school, that rumors have been spreading around of Misako cheating on Kunio with Daiki, and that a Kunio lookalike has been spotted. After the visit, Hiroshi waits for Kunio and Riki on-top of the prison walls as he knew they'd eventually make an escape. He runs away from the prison guards with the two and later meets up with them at the entrance to Nekketsu High School. Hiroshi is then commanded to stick around the outside of the school as a lookout in case something were to happen.

Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun Special[]

A reimagining of the original game, this version fleshes out the character of Hiroshi further and reveals the reason as to why the Sanwakai attack and kidnap him[1]. Hiroshi's father is a legislator who is against the construction of a casino.

Riki Densetsu[]

Hiroshi is able to be talked to at the shrine in Ikebukuro where he will mention how he wishes he can make friends.

River City: Tokyo Rumble[]

In the beginning of the story, Hiroshi is beaten up by Wataru Sasaki and Sakata outside of Nekketsu High School, to where Kunio and Misako walk out of the school to witness this happening. Misako takes care of Hiroshi while Kunio sets off to find Wataru and Sakata. Kunio is told by the two that Riki was the one who called for Hiroshi to be beaten up, so before a fight started between Kunio and Riki, Hiroshi intervenes and tries to explain what actually happens but to no avail.

River City Super Sports Challenge ~All Stars Special~[]

This remake of Downtown Nekketsu March Super-Awesome Field Day! re-imagines the events of that game. The story takes place after River City: Rival Showdown.

Hiroshi warns Sanjūrō Sugata that Reika Gojōin and Takashi Onizuka are looking to have a practice match against them. Before the second round of the tournament, Hiroshi overhears the captains of the Shiguma High School and Yurigaoka Girls High School teams wanting to defeat Nekketsu High School in the competition as a way to impress Tsuyoshi Gōda, and then proceeds to warn the Nekketsu High School team about this. After Nekketsu wins the second round, Hiroshi congratulates the new freshman for their efforts and tells them that he plans on visiting Kunio in the hospital tomorrow. The new freshman asks if they can tag along, to which Hiroshi tells them to meet him at the park the next day. While walking in the park with the new freshman, Mamoru Tōdō runs into the two and has Ryūichi and Ryūji Hattori start a fight, with Hiroshi running away to inform Kunio of the attack. Hiroshi later congratulates Kunio and the new freshman at the end of the game. During the game's hidden round, Hiroshi will read out the challenge letter to Kunio.

Hiroshi appears as an unlockable character and as a member of the Nekketsu Dodgeball Club team. His normal variant is able to be unlocked for use by winning a game as any Nekketsu High School member in free battle. Hiroshi is able to use the Super Dash and his dodgeball variant is able to use the Hoehoe Shot and the Burst Shot.

River City: Rival Showdown[]

River City: Rival Showdown is a remake of Downtown Nekketsu Story. The game takes place before River City Super Sports Challenge ~All Stars Special~.

In the story mode, Hiroshi is first seen during the prologue with Sugata as they rush in to check on Kunio after he was jumped by Ryūichi and Ryūji outside of Nekketsu High School. Hiroshi informs Kunio of a rumor he's heard about a strong pair of brothers taking over schools in the area. On the next day, Hiroshi digs into who's Kunio attackers were and identifies them as a pair of twins who recently transferred to Reihō Academy and how they became the school's top delinquents overnight. He also mentions that Riki has been unable to get in touch with his girlfriend Mami Shimada and suspects that something suspicious is going on.

On the second night, Hiroshi calls Kunio to drop a message from Masao Kobayashi telling Kunio to meet him at Reihō Academy the next day. Hiroshi then tells Kunio what he knows about Kobayashi. If the player has previously fought Tsuneo Kamijō and Noriyuki Yamamoto on both occasions, Hiroshi will once again call Kunio on the third day to drop a message from the two to meet them in front of the Yumemi Spa for a showdown. On the final day, Hiroshi will call Kunio to let him know that Hanazono High School knuckled under to Reihō Academy and that Mami has been kidnapped once again. Kunio asks Hiroshi to warn Sugata that Reihō may try to come and attack Nekketsu High School next.

River City Melee: Battle Royal Special[]

Hiroshi returns as a member of the Nekketsu Dodgeball Club team and is involved in the story mode. Hiroshi is able to use the Hoehoe Shot and the Explosion Shot.

River City Girls[]

After Kyoko and Misako get information from Susumu Godai that Taiki Yamada can be found inside the Mall, Hiroshi will appear near the entrance patiently waiting for the doors to get unlocked so he can get in and buy the latest issue of his favorite comic book, "Cosmic Mega Babes". Misako remembers Hiroshi from the time that she took his lunch money, though he awkwardly pushes this aside and mentions that the mall's security guard is late to work and is likely still asleep. Hiroshi then gives the girls details on how to open the door without breaking it, which is to take the keys from the security guard at his house. Upon gaining access to the mall, Hiroshi will be found reading the comic in the food court, quite disappointed that he wasn't able to get the special edition. He mentions that he hasn't seen Yamada around but surmises that he may be in the nearby construction site.

River City Melee Mach!![]

Hiroshi's moveset would be changed to instead use the Measure Shot and the Split Shot.

River City Saga: Three Kingdoms[]

Hiroshi plays the role of the Emperor.

The Emperor briefly appears in the Imperial Court during the Hot-Blooded ending of the final chapter where he watches Guan Yu (Kunio) go separate ways with Liu Bei (Gōda) and Zhang Fei (Godai). The Emperor asks Guan Yu to stop by the Imperial Court sometime and to stay away from fighting so much.

River City Girls 2[]

Hiroshi appears outside of the arcade in Uptown where he was planning on setting the top highscores again in Ultra Dance You Light Up My Life Baby Remix VXX, but the Sanwakai have changed all the games in the arcade to only accept Yakuza Coins. Hiroshi recommends Misako, Kyoko, and the rest of the group to go look for their coin machines located across Uptown.
