In the story mode, Gōda and the School Union are first seen participating against Nekketsu High School in the second round of the main event alongside Yurigaoka Girls' High School and Sigma High School, which are huge admirers of Gōda. Upon losing, Gōda apologizes to Nekketsu's new freshman on behalf of the other participating schools for getting carried away. Gōda and Susumu Godai go to meet with Riki and Hikaru Saotome before the finals after the announcement of the remaining teams dropping out, which only leaves Nekketsu High School, Hanazono High School, Reihō Academy, and the School Union in the tournament. Downtown Nekketsu Jidaigeki[]

River City: Rival Showdown[]

River City: Rival Showdown is a remake of Downtown Nekketsu Story. The game takes place before River City Super Sports Challenge ~All Stars Special~.

In the story mode, Gōda is first able to be seen during the evening of the second day where Kunio is able to protect Saori Gōda from some punks. Upon protecting Saori, Gōda will rush in and thank Kunio while stating he's been hoping to meet him sometime soon. On the third day, Gōda will reluctantly fight Kunio at the entrance of Reihō Academy. If the player has previously met Gōda through protecting Saori on the previous day, their interaction will change and Gōda will acknowledge his prior meeting with Kunio. Upon being defeated, Gōda compliments Kunio's strength and reveals that Hōryō High School has went under Reihō Academy's control and are ordering him to keep Kunio off of Reihō's campus. When Kunio questions Gōda as to why someone tough like him would accept their orders, he mentions the only reason he was doing so was because they were threatening to harm Saori. When Gōda first heard about Kunio, he decided that his eventual fight against him could be a good opportunity in testing Kunio's strength to see if he's worthy of putting a stop to Reihō, while planning on having Saori move schools and to take on Ryūichi and Ryūji Hattori in a fight if Kunio had lost.

During the final day on the true ending, Gōda will assist Kunio and Riki in their fight against Susumu Godai inside of Reihō Academy, as Godai is currently placed inside the school as a guard. Upon Godai's defeat, Gōda apologizes to him and states that he is fighting against Reihō, to which Godai switches sides to also fight against Reihō.

In Riki's Story, Gōda will spot Riki walking onto Reihō Academy's campus and ask what he's doing, to which Riki will ask Gōda to get out of his way. Gōda apologizes to Riki and states that he's unable to let him go any further. With Riki insistent on getting to the school's rooftop, Gōda fights him with the help of Kyōsuke Matsudo disguised as Godai. Upon being defeated, Gōda compliments Riki's strength and vaguely states that he's got someone he wants to protect when asked why he's working for Reihō. Finding hope in Riki's strength, Gōda asks if he can put a stop to Reihō's scheme and then passes out, though Riki misinterprets the question and believed it to be another request to pass onto God.

River City Melee: Battle Royal Special[]

Gōda returns as the captain of the School Union team and is involved in the game's story mode. Gōda is able to use the Headbutt, Head Tackle, and the Jump Counter.

River City Melee Mach!![]

River City Saga: Three Kingdoms[]

Gōda plays the role of Liu Bei, the first emperor of the State of Shu and sworn brothers of Guan Yu (Kunio) and Zhang Fei (Godai).

Liu Bei is first seen at the beginning of the first chapter with Zhang Fei where the two are fighting the Yellow Turbans. Upon being acquainted with Guan Yu, the three head to the Peach Garden as Liu Bei holds a celebration for their victory. With similar ambitions in wanting to restore the glory of the Han dynasty, the three pray to the spirit of the peach tree, to which they are interrupted by the actual spirit, Tian Nu (Momozono). Requesting an oath to be made in exchange for a few favors, the three become oath brothers with Tian Nu naming them the "Brothers of the Peach Garden". When deciding who's going to be considered the eldest brother, Guan Yu suggests a race to climb the top of the peach tree, though Liu Bei refuses and starts a fight with Guan Yu in order to stop him from climbing up the tree. Upon being defeated, the three eventually come to the conclusion that the one with brains should be the leader, to where they then appoint Liu Bei.

Throughout the beginning of the first chapter, the three will take various job listings in Ji. When the three defeat the Yellow Turbans in Linzi, Liu Bei asks Guan Yu and Zhang Fei to meet his teacher Lu Zhi (Madoka) in Guangzong to help plan out their next steps. Lu Zhi requests the group to help Zhu Jun (Kawakami) in Changshe. When the Yellow Turbans are already wiped out in the area by Cao Cao (Yamada)'s army, Liu Bei chooses to still talk to Zhu Jun regardless and is informed of the Yellow Turban hideout in Handan. Upon defeating the Yellow Turbans in the hideout, Liu Bei discovers a letter from one of the leaders sending out a notice for a surprise attack on Jizhou. The brothers assist Dong Zhuo (Sabu)'s army in clearing the area, where Liu Bei introduces the group to Dong Zhuo and requests for work, though is passed off as too insignificant by him. The group is informed of Zhang Bao (Sawaguchi)'s location by one of Dong Zhuo's troops and head out to take him on. When Zhang Bao is defeated, Liu Bei demands him to find his brothers and disband the Yellow Turbans.

In the second chapter, the brothers take a request to help Gongsun Zan (Heilman) fight off bandits in Yuyang. When the bandits are defeated, Liu Bei introduces his brothers to Gongsun Zan and he then proceeds to appoint the three as deputy ordinance officers in Pingyuan. Once the brothers arrive to their new home, Liu Bei suggests talking to the people in Pingyuan to gather intel. Later on, Gongsun Zan informs the brothers of a coalition being formed against Dong Zhuo and decide to follow Gongsun Zan to the coalition meeting at the Chen Liu castle. The brothers volunteer to assist Sun Jian (Maeda) against Dong Zhuo's army at the Hulao Pass, though Liu Bei worries about Sun Jian after his troops run away after the fight ends. Upon discovering that Sun Jian is not feeling well after the fight, Liu Bei informs the coalition that he has returned home no longer wanting to be apart of the coalition and that Hua Xiong (Abobo) is headed for Xingyang. When Guan Yu successfully defeats Hua Xiang alone, Yuan Shu (Yūji) offers the brothers a spot in the coalition in place of Sun Jian's absence, to which Liu Bei gracefully accepts. The brothers are requested to fight Lu Bu (Misuzu) at the Hulao Pass, to which she escapes halfway through the fight with the Red Hare (Shinji).

During the third chapter, the brothers are offered a job from Gongsun Zan to help Kong Rong by taking out some Yellow Turban remnants in Huang. Kong Rong informed the brothers of Cao Cao's army advancing on Xuzhou, to which Liu Bei offers to help stop their advances. Liu Bei informs Gongsun Zan that they will be leaving to Xuzhou, to which his subordinate Zhao Yun (Sugata) joins to assist them. Upon clearing some of Cao Cao's troops in Pengcheng and meeting Tao Qian in Xiapi, Liu Bei suggests to negotiate with Cao Cao to have him leave Xuzhou. The group meet with Yue Jin (Mochizuki) by chance in Suiyang and have him pass Tao Qian's letter to Cao Cao. Upon being informed by Mi Zhu (Saori) of Tao Qian's passing, they read a letter left to them which requests the brothers to govern Xuzhou, though Liu Bei declines as he thinks it'd be too sudden and raise Cao Cao's suspicions. Instead, Liu Bei suggests living a bit away from the castle to support Xuzhou from there, which Mi Zhu happily accepts. The group then proceed to help out the people of Xuzhou for a portion of the chapter. On their way back to Xiapi, the group runs into Lu Bu and her subordinate Zhang Liao (Hasebe) looking to temporarily stay in the city, which Liu Bei grants them permission to do so. Later, Liu Bei receives a letter directly from the Emperor asking for their help in taking out Yuan Shu, though has a suspicious he's being used by Cao Cao as he's currently under his protection. Liu Bei and Guan Yu meet Xu Huang (Kobayashi) of Cao Cao's army in Chen, though is interrupted by Zhang Liao informing the two that Lu Bu has taken over the castle in Xiapi after getting in a heated argument with Zhang Fei. Liu Bei then asks Xu Huang if Cao Cao would be able to lend a hand in taking down Lu Bu. When Lu Bu is defeated, Cao Cao requests Liu Bei to visit him in Xu on some matters he'd like to discuss privately, which Liu Bei accepts.

In the beginning of the fourth chapter, Liu Bei receives a letter from the imperial court requesting for his help against Cao Cao. Liu Bei heads to see Cao Cao in Xu anyway, as he believes attempting to take him out now is not feasible as his army is too large. In this meeting, Cao Cao believes him and Liu Bei are the two people who can help bring peace across the country, though Liu Bei refuses on any sort of advance from Cao Cao. A troop informs Cao Cao that Gongsun Zan has lost to Yuan Shao (Tōdō) and Liu Bei takes his leave, as he feels greatly indebted to Gongsun Zan. When leaving, Liu Bei accidentally drops the letter he received from the imperial court which informs Cao Cao of the request to take him out, which he views as a declaration of war. The brothers are later overwhelmed by Cao Cao's army at the castle of Xuzhou, so Guan Yu continues to fight while telling Liu Bei and Zhang Fei to flee. While on the run from Cao Cao's troops, Liu Bei is separated from Zhang Fei. Not thinking he'd be able to stand a chance, he turns to Yuan Shao where he temporarily works under him. When Yuan Shao is informed of Yan Liang (Kamijō)'s defeat against Cao Cao's army, he orders Liu Bei to follow Wen Chou (Yamamoto). During the ending of the chapter, Liu Bei is reunited with his brothers and runs into Zhao Yun again, as he was hoping to assist the brothers once again.

The brothers get help fleeing Cao Cao's army by Liu Bei's relative Liu Biao during the beginning of the fifth chapter and end up residing in Jingzhou. The brothers help out others in the area over the next few months as Liu Bei takes time to reflect. Guan Yu refers Sima Hui (Takaoka) to Liu Bei, who is a teacher in the area that may be of assistance. When Sima Hui meets Liu Bei, he suggests enlisting a tactician and mentions Zhuge Liang (Misako) and Pang Tong (Kaori) as being two promising tacticians in the area. In their current circumstances, Simi Hui advises Liu Bei to seek out Zhuge Liang first. The brothers attempt to meet with Zhuge Liang multiple times, though are repeatedly put through a test that Liu Bei always keeps his composure for. When the brothers finally get to see Zhuge Liang, Liu Bei begins to explain his plans for restoring the Han and asks for her strength, to which she agrees to join. Liu Bei is later seen back at the Xiangyang Castle after Liu Biao's passing and is informed of Cao Cao's army invading Xinye, to which the group sets off to defend the area. The group is told that Liu Cong surrendered to Cao Cao, making all of Jingzhou his territory. Zhuge Liang suggests fleeing the area as they'll be overwhelmed, but Liu Bei insists on evacuating the people of Xinye.

In the final chapter, Liu Bei and the brothers head to Chaisang where Zhuge Liang is waiting about their newly formed alliance with Sun Quan (Riki). While preparing for battle, Liu Bei will ask Guan Yu to search for Pang Tong and recruit her as a second tactician. During the Battle of Red Cliffs, Liu Bei will assist Guan Yu in the fight against Cao Ren (Onizuka). Upon defeating Cao Ren, Liu Bei will confirm that Cao Cao passed through his position and goes out searching for any remaining generals. During the ending of the game, Liu Bei asks his brothers, Zhao Yun, and Zhang Liang to continue lending their strength, in which they all agree.

In the China Heroes gamemode, Gōda is one of the four default characters that can be selected. Gōda is able to use the Headbutt, Dragon Jet, Brain Bomb, and the Demon Head Crush as his super special.
