Yamamoto (山本, やまもと ), full name Noriyuki Yamamoto (山本憲之, やまもと のりゆき ), is a third year student at Kagemury Academy and a recurring character in the Downtown Nekketsu series. Yamamoto is one half of Kagemura Academy's two-man delinquent leadership and doesn't care much for making his school respected on the streets, though enjoys the training and being able to fight alongside Tsuneo Kamijō to make it happen.
He appears gloomy and weak after being bullied by delinquents in middle school and has always struggled to make friends, though has been hanging out with Kamijō ever since he met him.

Downtown Nekketsu Story[]
Yamamoto and Kamijō's first appearance is in Downtown Nekketsu Story as an optional boss fight that is unrelated to the story. Looking to defeat Kunio and Riki to gain fame, they attempt to fight the two underneath the Hanazono Bridge but ultimately fail. If defeated for the first time, the two will later appear outside of the Yumemi Town sauna for a rematch.
In River City Ransom and Street Gangs, Yamamoto is renamed to Clyde.
Downtown Special Kunio-kun's Historical Period Drama![]
Yamamoto plays the role of Rokubee.
Rokubee alongside Ichibee will appear as one of the earlier clans that can be fought. Looking to pick a fight with weak opponents, they attempt to take on Kunimasa but end up defeated.

River City: Rival Showdown is a remake of Downtown Nekketsu Story. The game takes place before River City Super Sports Challenge ~All Stars Special~.
In the story mode, Yamamoto appears alongside Kamijō and are first seen during the first day waiting underneath the Hanazono Bridge. When Kunio first runs into them, the two introduce themselves and challenge him to a fight as a way to gain fame. Upon being defeated, the two believe they're close to reaching Kunio's strength and aim to have a rematch against him where they plan on becoming victorious. Later at night, the two will be waiting for Kunio to show up at Nekketsu High School and will show off their increased strength as the two have hit the gym after their first loss. Defeated again, the two figured they were too tired from the gym and that they'll need learn some new moves before taking on Kunio the next day.
On the second day, Yamamoto and Kamijō will appear waiting outside of the gym on Eito Resort and have another fight with Kunio after a sleepless night training to learn new special moves. The two lose to Kunio once again and come to the conclusion that they are the toughest but only come behind Kunio in strength, so they believe incorporating combos will be able to get the best of Kunio.
At the beginning of the third day, Yamamoto and Kamijō send a message to Hiroshi to pass onto Kunio that they're waiting for him outside of the Yumemi Spa. When Kunio confronts the two, they acknowledge things have been getting crazy in town over the past few days though reassure that their scuffle is only on the side and whatever is happening won't affect their showdown. The two attempt to take on Kunio for the fourth time with all that they've learned, though are bested once more. Upon being defeated, the two thank Kunio for being willing to fight them as it truly did help them become Kagemura High School's top delinquents and for teaching them the importance of challenging others. Confused, Kunio comments that he hasn't taught them anything, though gives them credit for having guts. Feeling honored by Kunio's praise, the two get ready to continue their training and think that they'll need to double their efforts in order to surpass Kunio's strength.
During the final day on the true ending, Yamamoto and Kamijō will show up to Reihō Academy's gym to assist Kunio and Riki in their fight against Takashi Onizuka. Upon defeating Onizuka, Yamamoto and Kamijō are astonished at their victory and believe they're one step closer to becoming even stronger than Reihō Academy. The two let Kunio and Riki leave and decide to stay in the gym to not let anyone get past them.
In Riki's Story, Yamamoto appears alongside Kamijō during the final day and will assist him in attempting to obtain Riki's belt. Upon being defeated, he finds inspiration in Riki and thinks that he should aspire to be more like him.
In the international version of the game, Yamamoto was renamed to use his localized name from River City Ransom, Clyde. His original name would be restored in the remastered version.
River City Melee: Battle Royal Special[]
Yamamoto returns as a member of Kagemura Academy's team and is involved in the story mode. Yamamoto is able to use the Sliding Knee Kick, Fatal Steps, and the Boomerang Throw.

Yamamoto and Kamijō make a cameo appearance inside one of the destructible cars during Godai's mission in Downtown.

River City Saga: Three Kingdoms[]
Yamamoto plays the role of Wen Chou, one of two feared generals in Yuan Shao (Tōdō)'s army.
In the story mode, Wen Chou first appears looking for who defeated Yan Liang (Kamijō) to avenge him and comes across Guan Yu (Kunio) and Zhang Liao (Hasebe). Upon being asked if they were responsible, Guan Yu unhesitatingly admits he was the one who defeated him and gets Wen Chou angry, where he then begins to introduce himself. Guan Yu interrupts Wen Chou's introduction by stating his name and begins the fight. On the hot-blooded route of this chapter, Wen Chou will appear during the finale against Yuan Shao and his army.
